ANALISIS DAMPAK PENGEMBANGAN WISATA KONSERVASI PENYU TERHADAP PENDAPATAN MASYARAKAT LOKAL DESA APAR, KOTA PARIAMAN

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of sea turtle conservation tourism development on the income of the local community in Apar Village, Pariaman City, focusing on four variables: location, infrastructure, promotion, and educational programs. The background of this study is based on the great potential of sea turtle conservation tourism in improving the community's economy through the creation of jobs and business opportunities. The research method uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The research population consists of all business operators and workers in the sea turtle conservation tourism area, totaling 43 respondents, selected using total sampling technique. The results indicate that, individually, the variables of location, infrastructure, promotion, and educational programs have a positive and significant impact on community income. Simultaneously, all four variables also have a significant impact on income, with the coefficient of determination (R²) indicating a strong contribution. Strategic location, adequate infrastructure, effective promotion, and community-involving educational programs are the main drivers of increased tourist visits and local income. The study concludes that the development of sea turtle conservation tourism plays an important role in improving the welfare of the community in Desa Apar. Recommendations are provided to local governments and tourism managers to strengthen digital-based promotion, improve infrastructure quality, and develop sustainable educational programs that actively involve the community.
